The University of Central Lancashire – or UCLan how we like to lovingly call it – has been ranked Northwest-England's top modern university with its campus sitting snug in the city centre of cosmopolitan Preston. UCLan belongs to the new universities in the UK being founded in 1992, but its roots go way back to 1828 and the humble beginnings of the founding of the 'Institution for the Diffusion of Knowledge'.
Since then the university has propelled itself into becoming a major player, both at home and across the world, with offices in China, India, Pakistan and many more collaborations spread across the globe.
